About

Alex Rainford-Roberts Garden & Landscape Design is based in Blackheath, South London.  We work across London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Berkshire.

Alex studied Garden Design at the prestigious Inchbald School, where she won the school's coveted Planting Design Prize as well as winning a competition to redesign the grounds of the Royal Automobile Club country club in Surrey.  Prior to training in Garden Design she read Philosophy at Cambridge University and also holds a Masters degree (Distinction) in Scenographic design from Trinity Laban.

Alex spent eighteen months working as a Garden Designer for Chelsea Flower Show gold medalist Jo Thompson, where she worked on high-end residential gardens and public realm projects.  She has also worked with leading landscape designer Anthony Paul on gardens in France and the UK.

Alex set up her own garden design studio in 2017, with an ethos of designing beautiful gardens that reflect the unique personalities of her clients.

When not designing gardens, Alex also tutors garden design students at the Inchbald School of Design, as well as providing private CAD and Photoshop tuition.
